No Virtual Console on Switch.... Kind of.

Yesterday Nintendo announced that there would be no virtual console as we know it on the Nintendo Switch.  Instead we will get a "Netflix" like on demand service.  The online service will cost $3.99 per month, $7.99 every 3 months or $19.99 for 12 months.

They announced that it will launch with 20 games, 10 of which have been announced (Soccer, Tennis, Donkey Kong, Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros, Super Mario Bros. 3, Balloon Fight, Ice Climber, Dr. Mario and The Legend of Zelda).  You will be able to play them offline and there is even a online multiplayer option so that you can even play retro games over the internet.

I am glad that Nintendo is allowing us to play older games on the Switch but i really wish they would just give us the Virtual Console like previous systems.  I feel like Nintendo will drag their feet and slowly trickle games to this system in order to keep monthly subscriptions.  Hopefully they prove me wrong and have they have a huge catalog available soon.

How do you feel about this announcement?
